Lou Hanson
Lou Hanson Pottery
When I was in second grade, I took after school art classes from the high school art teacher Mrs. Smith. One look at the potery kick wheel and I was in love...only Mrs. Smith told me that my legs were too short to use it! I had to wait through five years of coil and pinch pots to get my chance...and I have been at it ever since!
In 1977 I finished an Honours B.A. in Fine Art and opened my first studio. Since that time I have worked full time as a potter. My current studio is located in Dundas,Ontario. There, with two Newfoundland dogs and two cats to help, inspire and humour me, I produce a wide range of work in clay. My pottery is all about seeking the celebration in our everyday lives. Classic white, chocolate brown and new floral motifs decorate pottery designed to lift your spirits and your food! Celebrate life’s events with cake stands, personalized wedding bowls, signature platters, tea sets and more. |
